Abstract

Complexes [RhCl(PPh3)3] and [Ru(CHPh)Cl2(PCy3)2] efficiently catalyzed the dimerization of arylethynes to the corresponding 1,4-substituted enynes in aqueous environment in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate. The Rh catalyst exhibited almost exclusive preference for the formation of E-isomers, the Ru one exhibits strong preference for the formation of Z-isomers.
