Reactivity of the ammine group in the 7-H3N-7-CB10H12 carbaborane was examined and a series of new 7-L-7-CB10H12 derivatives [L = (CH3)2C=NH, (CH2)5C=NH, C6H5CH=(C6H5CH2)N, HOOCCH2NH2, CH3CONH2, (CH2)6N4, and (CH3)2S] was characterized. Constitution of all compounds isolated was established on the basis of their mass, IR, 1H, and 11B NMR spectra.
