Abstract

Partial wave analysis together with the qualitative analysis of hybridization has been performed for two ordered alloys with CsCl structure, FeTi and FeAl. Relation to the theory of crystal superstructures and surface states is mentioned. Relative importance of covalency and ionocity in the cohesion of these compounds is treated in simple terms with the aim to better understand the nature of their stability.
