Abstract
Isomerization of heptacyclic hydrocarbons, heptacyclo[8,8,0,02,17,03,11,04,9,012,16,013,18]octadecane and heptacyclo[8,8,0,02,13,03,11,04,9,012,17,014,18]octadecane under various conditions in the presence of Lewis-type catalysts has been studied. The isomerization gives the heptacyclic diamantoid hydrocarbon triamantane which is the third member of the adamantanologic series.
