Abstract

The interaction of MoO42- ions with citrate and malate, respectively, has been studied by potentiometric neutralization titrations in aqueous solutions at pH 4-7. The equilibrium constants of chelate formation have been determined for MoO2(OH)(citH-1)3-, MoO2(citH-1)2-, MoO2(OH)(malH-1)2-, and MoO2(malH-1)24-. The way of bonding of the citrate and malate ligands to the central Mo(VI) atom is discussed.
