Preparation of unsaturated nitriles

Abstract
The yield and the rate of formation of nitriles X-CH=CH-CN and 3- and 4-substituted nitriles X-C6H5CN (X = CH3; OR; SR; COOCH3) were investigated in the reaction of vinyl and aryl bromides with CN(-), under catalysis with Pd0 and macrocyclic polyethers, and in the reaction with CuCN in dipolar aprotic solvents. Individual procedures were compared from the point of view of the possibility of a preparative utilization.
