[3,3]-Sigmatropic reactions in the enamine series

Abstract
Thermal isomerization of 1-methyl-2-(3-butenylidene)pyrrolidine (Ib) afforded a mixture of Ib and 1,2-dimethyl-3-allyl-2-pyrroline (IIIa). Analogous reaction with 1-methyl-2-(3-butenyl)-2-piperidine (IIa) gave quantitatively 1,2-dimethyl-3-allyl-2-piperideine (IVa) by [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement.
