Reactions of Ge(IV) with aminocarboxylic and aminohydroxylic chelones

Abstract
Reactions of GeO2 with eight chelones were studied in dilute aqueous solutions by using the potentiometric neutralization titration method. The equilibrium formation constants were determined for the Ge(OH)Y- and Ge(OH)(HY) complexes with EDTA, Ge(OH)2Z- complex with NTA, and Ge(OH)(OH2) complex with TEA. The conditions for formation of Ge(IV) chelates with chelones are discussed.
